The Friends Craft Fair is a celebration of ordinary things made by ordinary people.
We are an ongoing process, i.e. friends crafting a cooperative. And coming up to our third fair, we take stock of how much our members, their works, and our community have developed over time.
Our Coop started with 1 then 3 people, pooling our rental and equipment together. Then from our first fair to our latest, we grew from 30 to 100 members.
But numbers are just numbers. We have most enjoyed watching Cooples grow from quiet acquaintances to full friendships, their ideas develop from pinterest derivatives to sincere explorations, and their growing contributions to make the Coop a bustling home for all.
This is because the Coop as an organisation is also one such “ordinary product”, produced by labour and love — a space started by ordinary people to serve ordinary people. And you are welcome here too!
